We help broken believers reclaim trust, destroy strongholds, and restore what hell tried to tear apart. We are not talking from a textbook. We are talking from the wreckage. And we made it out.
December 31st, 2022. I was dying inside. Sexual addiction. Pornography. Emotional affairs. A secret life my wife knew nothing about. On the outside everything looked fine. On the inside the man she married was living a double life. And the weight of it was crushing me.
That New Year's Eve I hit rock bottom. I cried out to God from the back bedroom with nothing left to offer but the truth about who I had become. And God met me there. Not with condemnation. With a command. "Get up. It's time."
January 1st, 2023. It happened to be a Sunday. And I went back to the only place I knew that could help me. It was not a hospital. It was not the ER. It was the church. And the childhood friend and former drug dealer who became a pastor. I was looking for the God that transformed his life.
I walked up to Pastor Mike and said, "I'm ready." He looked at me and said, "If you're really ready, because I've been trying to get you for years, I got you." Boom. He started mentoring me.
The next day, January 2nd, I walked into a 12-step program. I confessed everything. I got a sponsor. I recommitted my life to Christ. I started serving. And for the first time in my life my actions started surpassing my words.
For nine months I showed up differently. I was changing. Growing. Rebuilding. But Pastor Mike kept pressing me. "You need to tell your wife." And I kept pushing back. Hard. "Mike, we come from the same place. We don't snitch. Especially not on ourselves."
I believed the best apology was changed behavior. And my behavior was changing. But God was not asking for a better version of the lie. He was asking for the truth.
Nine months sober. Nine months of real transformation. And then I obeyed the hardest assignment God ever gave me. I told Geisha everything.
I expected rage. I expected the door. Instead she looked at me and said two words that broke me more than anger ever could have. "Hold me."
What Derek confessed that night shattered everything Geisha thought she knew about her marriage. Her husband. Her life. And the first thing that showed up was not just the pain. It was the promises.
Every woman has a list. The things her single self swore she would never tolerate. "If he ever does that, I am gone. No second chances. No discussion." Geisha had that list too. And every word on it was screaming at her to walk out that door.
But the woman standing in that room was not her single self anymore. She was a wife. A covenant partner. And she had to make a choice that no one can prepare you for. The promises her single self made or the covenant her married self stood on.
She chose covenant. And that choice did not make the pain go away. It made the fight begin.
Geisha chose to forgive instantly. That was a decision. But healing? Healing was something she had to walk through every single day. And she could not do it alone. She leaned into her sisters in the church. Women who showed up for her when the world felt like it was falling apart. Women who prayed with her, sat with her, held her accountable to the process, and reminded her who she was when she could not remember on her own.
Those women gave her something priceless. The wisdom, the support, and the encouragement to know the difference between forgiveness and healing. Forgiveness was the decision she made that night. Healing was the road she walked every day after.
Today Derek walks in freedom. Sober. Delivered. Walking in his God-given identity. And Geisha walks in a strength that was forged in the fire, not handed to her on a stage. She chose the hardest road a wife can walk. And God met her on every mile of it.
Their marriage is not what it was before. It is better. Deeper. More honest. More Kingdom-centered. Built on ground that had to be broken before God could lay a new foundation.
Now they do for other people what they had to fight to find for themselves. Real mentorship. Real accountability. A real path forward. Whether you are the betrayer or the betrayed. Separated or holding on. Newly married or decades in. Single and trying to figure out who God made you to be before you bring that into somebody else's life.
Derek is a licensed and ordained minister, a senior at Liberty University, and the co-founder of Kingdom Driven Consulting. Geisha is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and owner of A Brighter Day Counseling and Consulting. Together they bring prophetic fire and clinical depth to every person they serve.
